A visually stunning town, especially if the traveller does not come from a mountainous area. I could make this a home away from home - for sure! Where else (I am sure there are places somewhere out there) can you be swimming at the local beach and looking at volcanoes!. Many options for the outdoor type near bye. Very friendly people and just the right size of town with everything you need (restaurants, hotels, a few bars, local sights) to spend a week. I stayed at a B&B (Canales del Sur Costanera) and would go back in a heart beat. Wonderful people that I have subsequently stayed in touch with. If you are in the area (ex: Puerto Montt - which is interesting but a bit rough - you must go to Puerto Varas! Enjoy.
